MEET THE 2025 MISS SOUTH DAKOTA USA®

Megan Hiykel

Megan was born and raised in La Vista, Nebraska, with an older brother 16 years her senior. A baton twirler for 12 years and a lifelong horse rider, she also cheered all four years at Papillion La Vista High School. Now a student at South Dakota State University studying aviation, she is pursuing her dream in a male-dominated field. Megan began volunteering at 13 in skilled nursing, where she developed a passion for seniors and has worked to raise awareness of their loneliness. Pageantry gave her confidence, speaking skills, and volunteer opportunities, and after cheering D1 at SDSU, she returned to compete, earning the title of Miss South Dakota USA 2025. She looks forward to inspiring young people to follow their goals and connecting generations across South Dakota.
